Carroll Park: Turning the Dream of Homeownership into Reality for Fort Worth Families

We’re thrilled to share that the Fort Worth Community Land Trust (FWCLT) was recently featured in The Business Press for our groundbreaking work bringing attainable homeownership to Fort Worth families through the Carroll Park development in the Rosemont area.

Spanning 15 acres and slated to include around 200 attainable homes starting at $135,000, Carroll Park represents a new model for sustainable affordability. As highlighted in the article, FWCLT’s innovative community land trust approach allows homeowners to purchase their homes while the FWCLT remains ownership of the land, keeping prices permanently within reach.

Executive Director Becky Gligo emphasized that the project is “more than just a house — it’s a long-term investment in stability, connection, and generational wealth.” Supported by Housing Channel and the Rainwater Charitable Foundation, the initiative marks Fort Worth’s first designated land trust neighborhood, offering families earning 60–120% of the area median income an opportunity to own their home and build equity.

Interested families are invited to visit the new model home at 4092 Merida Avenue during an upcoming open house or attend one of FWCLT’s monthly information sessions to learn how the program works, who qualifies, and how to apply. Visit the website for more information at fortworthclt.org or call 817-710-5790.
